Stacking Wood

The day started out with an awesome chiropractor appointment, and then a quick 1.65 mile run. I would have gone farther, but my ankle was sore, and the last thing I want to do is compromise my race next weekend. I will probably be wearing the same outfit:

The "obnoxiously bright flamingo" pink really suits me, don't you think? Then, things got even better, when we stopped for Starbucks (I have a serious Starbucks addiction. I go through withdrawals if I don't have it at least once every other week). This time I decided to cheat on my beloved pumpkin spice latte, and I got a salted caramel mocha. It is not my favorite flavor, but it was far from being bad. I think next time I will go with the peppermint mocha.

Chipped, bright-red nail polish is so fashion-forward. The drive home was also beautiful. Who doesn't want to drive with a view like this? Zach, that's who. He was not happy that he had to make a 40 minute drive for this outing.

So I have always envisioned the weekend as being a time to relax and drink an alcoholic beverage and catch up on tv shows. But around here, the weekend means work. Zach's dad was quick to put me to work stacking wood. I stacked all of this wood in the span of an hour and a half. Well, okay, Zach might have helped me for about ten minutes. But really, I did it all myself.

Notice that the wood pile is taller than I am. I have never been so tired in my life. Forget workout DVDs and running. Just go stack 23094809184 pieces of 20lb wood and call it a day. To make up for all of my calories that I lost wood-stacking, we made giant burgers for dinner.

With gluten-free buns, of course. Now time for some homework and some episodes of Breaking Bad on Netflix. I love that show, just because I understand all of the chemistry-related humor. Such a nerd.

  1. I think I stacked most of that wood! And it was 40 minute drive both ways...
